I can't for the life of me figure this one out. Is it ok to include link to gift registry on wedding web site? Many people say it would almost be rude not to (especially with so many out of town and out of country wedding guests) but I know it is not polite to include with invitations and I don't.... Link to wedding gift registry on wedding website; convenient, but proper?

I know it is only appropriate to spread word of registry preferences via word of mouth. I've mentioned the store names to my bridal attendants who tell others when asked. My mother has been asked by many where we registered so she emails links in response to that.
